The charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People has just run their second “Deaf for the Day” campaign

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a centre of excellence in training hearing dogs to alert deaf people to everyday household sounds and danger signals in the home, work place and in public buildings

This year John Barrowman went “Deaf for the Day” as part of a filmed experiment for ITV (UK). He wanted to better understand the difficulties that deaf people face and personally experience the life-changing difference that a hearing dog makes.

“Going deaf for the day was one of the most insightful yet exhausting days of my life” he said.
