|There are two application deadlines, annually. The first deadline for STAR submissions is September 1, 2017 at Midnight ET! The second STAR application deadline is January 1, 2018 at Midnight ET. The American Academy of Audiology Foundation’s STAR program offers full time audiology graduate students (AuD, PhD, AuD/PhD) at a U.S. university funding to support their participation in professional meetings where they will present research or gain an educational experience not available in their academic program. Selected students will receive a stipend of up to $500 for conference registration, transportation and/or lodging expenses for meetings in the hearing sciences or other sciences related to student coursework.
Students are required to notify the Foundation if they have applied for and/or have received funding from other sources. STAR funding is not intended for use when other mechanisms of support have already been provided/received to cover conference expenses. Students who have received funding from the STAR program in the past are ineligible to receive again. If you receive funding through STAR you are unable to receive Travel Award funding through ARO, but are encouraged to apply for both to ensure a better funding opportunity. ARO Travel Award site opens September 1 – September 30.
The first STAR application deadline is September 1- don’t miss out!
