[hear-it.org] There are more people in Poland who say they have a hearing loss than in other European countries. At the same time, fewer people with hearing loss use hearing aids

[hear-it.org] In Brazil, eight out of ten teenagers and young adults use personal listening devices and have unsafe listening practices when listening to music. Many of them show early symptoms of hearing loss and experience tinnitus.

Strasbourg-based European Science Foundation (ESF) has launched its new, expert services division, Science Connect, which will be dedicated to providing practical and interdisciplinary support services to the science community and science stakeholders in Europe.

[hear-it.org] Poor experiences are common for people with hearing loss who attend theatres or concert halls. 94% of the hearing impaired participants in a survey said that their hearing ability has resulted in them having a poor experience in theatres or concert halls.

The symposium will be held on February 20-21 in Madrid and the organizers have selected three scientific topics related to research interests of one of Spain’s most illustrious scientists: Yeasts as experimental models, Enzymology and metabolic regulation, and Molecular pathology.
