It brings together leaders in the fields of ageing and regeneration with early stage researchers, i.e. Ph.D. students and postdocs

About the workshop

Welcome to the EMBO Workshop: Molecular mechanisms of ageing and regeneration – From pluripotency to senescence. The workshop combines lectures, discussion groups, poster sessions and tutorials under the olive trees or on the beach and the very popular common dinners. The intense nature of the course creates a familiar and inspiring atmosphere and fosters interactions between participants and speakers. It thus creates a unique training and networking opportunity.

The following topics will be covered:

  • Cancer stem cells
  • Metabolism & ageing
  • Neural stem cells
  • Parallels between embryogenesis and organ regeneration
  • Regeneration in non-vertebrates and vertebrates
  • Stem cell ageing
