What happened at eHealth Tallinn 2017?
Over 600 digital health experts and policy makers from Europe and across the globe gathered as part of the High-level conference ‘Health in the Digital Society. Digital Society for Health’ in Tallinn on 16-18 October 2017. The preliminary results of the EU public consultation on the future of digital health and care were presented and a Digital Health Society Declaration was announced.

eHealth and Ageing Well at ICT Proposers’ Day 2017
Three eHealth and ICT for Ageing Well solutions originating from EU-funded projects have been shortlisted for the prestigious 2017 Innovation Radar Prize. The winner will be awarded at the ICT Proposers’ Day on 9 November. When you attend this event, you can also find out which funding opportunities are suitable for your digital health and care project – the draft Horizon 2020 Work Programme has been published.

Interim evaluation of AAL Programme: funding for ICT projects on assisted living remains important

The mid-term review of the European Active and Assisted Living (AAL) funding initiative confirmed the relevance of the programme and its progress achieved. The review also highlighted areas for future development, such as even closer links with market and further engagement of end-users.

€2 Million Horizon prize for better mobility of older people
The aim of this contest is to develop innovative and sustainable mobility solutions for senior citizens (65+). This will help to combat social exclusion and support independent living.

inDemand: a new H2020 project for co-creating eHealth solutions

inDemand is a new European project based on a model where healthcare organisations and companies co-create eHealth solutions, with the economic support of regional funds. Regions that are interested in this model can receive free coaching.

Volunteers needed to test innovative system for better health and less frailty

The My-AHA (My Active and Healthy Ageing) project aims to reduce frailty risk by improving physical activity, cognitive functions, psychological state, social resources, nutrition, sleep as well as overall well-being. The project is recruiting volunteers over 60 years old for its test phase.

Open market consultation for pre-commercial procurement on early detection of superbugs

Four healthcare procurement authorities in Spain, Germany, UK and Italy invite interested potential bidders for the open market consultation in preparation of their upcoming pre–commercial procurement for the development of early detection systems of microorganisms that may lead to hospital-acquired infections. EU funded MasterMind publishes Policy recommendations for depression treatment through eMental health
Depressive disorders have a considering impact on the lives of EU citizens. Smart policies and strategies are required to support the deployment of eMental health solutions. The EU-funded MasterMind consortium has composed a policy brief on this issue.

MIDAS workshops on co-design, consent, ethics and GDPR
The MIDAS project is working on delivering a unified big data platform for health policy. On 16 November they will host a Co-Design Workshop, which will provide insight into how participatory design methods can make technology more effective and meaningful for individuals and organisations. The next day, a Consent, Ethics & General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Workshop will take place.

Save the date: Conference of Partners of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing
This event will be dedicated to reviewing the action plans of the Action Groups and the Reference Sites Collaborative Network, and especially how these plans are aligned with the European Commission policy activities, notably the “Transformation of health and care in the Digital Single Market” that was announced in the mid-term review of the European Commission’s Digital Single Market. The event is open to EIP partners.
